Potter County Commissioners Endorse
Republican Jeff Stroehmann
Coudersport – Potter County’s Republican County Commissioners today endorsed Lycoming County businessman Jeff Stroehmann for Congress. This is the first endorsement any candidate has received from County Commissioners in the 5th Congressional District.
Commissioners Doug Morley and Paul Heimel made the joint announcement, urging
their fellow Republicans to join them in voting for Stroehmann. “His plan for
reinventing rural Pennsylvania is just what we need here in Potter County,
particularly when it comes to his economic vision and strategies,” said
Commissioner Morley. “We ask that our fellow Republicans join with us in
supporting Jeff.”
Stroehmann is the only candidate for Congress with an economic development plan
for rural Pennsylvania, entitled, “Reinventing Rural Pennsylvania.”
“Both Doug and I were impressed by the specifics of Jeff’s plan,” said
Commissioner Heimel. “Like Jeff says, we cannot rebuild our communities until we
create more jobs. We also greatly value our natural resources and the things
that make our county special. Jeff gets it, and we are eager to work with him on
his campaign and in Congress.”
The Stroehmann plan builds on the strengths of rural Pennsylvania and calls for
greater growth by focusing on energy independence, greater use of long haul rail
and short haul trucking, and increased re-development of industrial brownfields.
“I am very thankful to Commissioners Morley and Heimel for endorsing me. I have
worked hard in Potter County during my campaign, and I am glad to have GOP
leaders like Doug and Paul onboard my team,” said Stroehmann.
Stroehmann, a conservative pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment Republican, is a
successful businessman and business owner. He serves as Vice President for Moran
Industries, a warehousing and logistics company. He also owns and operates
Stroehmann Earthworking Services.
Stroehmann has been active in his community and the GOP for many years. He is
former Chairman of the Woodward Township Board of Supervisors, and also served
as Lycoming County Republican Committee Chairman during President Bush’s 2004
re-election campaign. Stroehmann is also a former President of the Woodward
Township Volunteer Fire Company and a former member of the Board of Directors of
Lycoming County Red Cross. He is a current member of the Susquehanna Council Boy
Scouts of America Executive Board, and Chairman of the Customer Advisory Board
for District 3 Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

It is great to see our commissioners taking the step to stand up for our rural needs and it really seems that Stroehmann has a handle on that. I was able to get a copy of his plan and read it. I encourage others to do the same. The commissioners endorsement only confirmed what I knew, Jeff Stroehmann is Potter County's man. Be sure to vote April 22nd.

Penn State University has put together a website featuring the campaigns of all of the 5th District candidates. Each candidate is featured on a video speaking on a variety of issues.
This venue will allow you to study the candidates, hear them speak and see them on the video. It takes the financial advantage out of the picture as each candidate is equally pictured without regard to his financial ability to reach out to the voter.

I had a difficult time trying to weed out the various positions of the 9 Republicans running for Congress and largely using the WPSU website came to the same conclusion that Commissioners Heimel and Morley did. Stroehmann has substance and experience and is offering solutions. I'm glad the Commissioners landed where I did on this important race. Stroehmann will represent Potter County and the whole district well in Washington.

I recently had the opportunity to meet Jeff Stroehmann. I was very impressed with his knowledge of Potter County, his grasp of the issues facing this area and the nation and his proposed solutions. He is a pro life, fiscal conservative in the Ronald Reagan tradition.

I think having our Republican Commisioners endorsement of Stroehman for congress will backfire on Mr. Stroehman. Talk about town is that our new Commissioners will be in office themselves for only "one term"

After listening to the front runners in this campaign, I found Stroeman had a good message, but as I was listening to solutions on immagration, Walker had the best answer. He is my pick thanks to the PSU website. As for the polling Stroeman is way down 3rd and Derek Walker is in 2nd, so why don't we pull together and support one of the most electable candidates
