Smethport - Ronald R. Baney, 75, of Smethport, PA

Smethport - Ronald R. Baney, 75, of Smethport, died Wednesday (August 12, 2009) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

He was born Oct 18, 1933 in Lock Haven, a son of William and Lillian Bowmaster Clair. On Sept. 27, 1977, in Shinglehouse, PA, he married Rena Mattison-Goodwill, who survives.

Mr. Baney attended Lock Haven area schools, and was employed by Dresser Rand in Olean, NY.

He was a Sgt. 1st Class in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by

Step Son, Dean (Lynne) Goodwill of Smethport, PA; step daughter, Peggy (Truman) Ford of Smethport, PA.

two sisters: Barbara Baldwin of Olean, NY, Isabelle Rombke of Sparta, NC

one brother: William Baney of Mill Hall, PA

many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step son, William Goodwill, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral and committal services will begin at 11A.M., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Gregg, pastor of the Regular Baptist Church, Smethport, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; Bucktail Post #138 of Smethport.
