A California man is in the Clarion County jail after police say he tried to leave the state with a 14-year-old New Bethlehem girl.

Clarion-based state police said Juan F. Bernal Jr., 20, Compton, Calif., had an online relationship with the girl during the past month.

Bernal traveled to Clarion Wednesday evening and arranged for the girl to meet him at a motel in Monroe Township. Police said Bernal contacted a local cab company and tried to leave the state with the girl. More...
