Dicello hired as new chief county clerk
By JIM RUNKLE - jrunkle@Lockhaven.comLOCK HAVEN - After several months of work, background investigations, interviews and the creation of a new job description, not to mention a great deal of behind-the-doors deliberation, the Clinton County commissioners chose local resident Amy Dicello as county government's newest chief clerk
Dicello, of 221 W. Water St., Lock Haven, a well known resident with a lengthy local career in public service, will begin her new duties Sept. 21.
The commissioners announced their decision at Thursday's meeting.
For the past 17 years, Dicello has been executive director of the Infant Development Program, 980 E. Water St., Lock Haven.
In that capacity, she was responsible for developing and implementing the budget, maintaining the accounting system, preparing financial reports, fundraising and administering insurance programs.
When the commissioners re-designed the job description, they added duties on the financial side of the equation. Under that description, the chief clerk will assist the commissioners in developing a five-year capital plan and the annual county budget, prepare budget-related reports and budget forecasts, maintain liability insurance programs, prepare news releases and act as a public relations/information resource for county government.
Dicello's salary was set at $54,828. The previous chief clerk made approximately $53,000.
Board members did not identify the other applicants for the job, but said approximately 20 people expressed an interest. More...

Gee, imagine that..... "After several months of work, background investigations, interviews and the creation of a new job description.....". Now why would you want to go through all that work to hire a new Chief Clerk when you can just hire an old friend? I mean afterall.... its a lot less work & expense to do it that way isn't it? You save the cost of the advertisements and all that time doing interviews and checks. I mean really now. Gotta love it.....
An old friend such as who?
It might fit your little conspiracy theory nicely but don't let the facts get in the way of a good character bashing myth.
Are you ready to commend the Potter Commissioners for filling that same position here with somebody who is competent and qualified and oh yeah making something like 25 percent less than the Clinton guy and for (see above) creating a new job description?
Or are you one of those people who just like to bash away for the sake of bashing or for sour grapes?
The 8:54 person is one of those who carry a real grudge against our Commissioners. They use Solomons Words for their own personal agenda. I think it is pretty likely this person is either affiliated with somebody who got voted out or is affiliated with someone who is no longer employed by the county if you catch my drift.
You nailed it 10:13. Anyone with a brain sees through it so chill out.
Maybe Todd should have this job
The person who wrote last night to expose the source of the first comment (I think I know who wrote it) has made me realize that there are people using this anonymous comment section to try to play politics and get back at people.
Thank you.
Gee, ya think?
well at least they advertised the job the commissioners here think that is to big a deal they just hire ther buddies legal or not they don,t care kind of like thr crap in thr whitehouse.
Whether Todd Brown was a "buddy" or not, he's more qualified and got more going for him than the people who hired him. Whether that was an accident or good management on their part amounts to the same thing: a good public servant for Potter County.
