Senator Scarnati Announces New Staff Positions in Harrisburg, District Offices

Senator Scarnati

(HARRISBURG) -- Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-Jefferson) today announced several staff changes in his Harrisburg and District Offices.

Drew Crompton has been named Acting Chief of Staff. Crompton has worked in the Senate for the past 16 years in several capacities. For the past three years, he has served as Scarnati's Legal Counsel and will retain those responsibilities in addition to managing the day-to-day operations of the Harrisburg Office.

Tim Nyquist has been named Director of Communications and District Director for Scarnati's offices in Warren, Brockway and Wellsboro. Nyquist currently handles communications and outreach for Scarnati's Harrisburg Office and the 25th District and will retain those duties, in addition to coordinating staffing for all district events and ensuring prompt constituent services.

Brenda Weikert will serve as Senate Majority Staff Administrator. She has been the Assistant Majority Staff Administrator for the past 12 years. In her new role, she will oversee all personnel matters and related staff issues. In accordance with Act 417, Weikert will also administer the fiscal matters of the caucus in conjunction with the Chief Clerk.

Casey Long will be named Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs, principally responsible for coordinating legislative efforts both in committee and on the floor of the Senate. He will also continue to be actively involved in the development of long-term policy initiatives.

Maria Wilhelm will move from the Lt. Governor's Office to Scarnati's Harrisburg Office to serve as Administrative Assistant. Wilhelm has been with the Senate for several years, previously with Senator Salvatore's and Senator Punt's offices.

"I'm fortunate to have an experienced and talented staff who will work hard – not only for my district but also for all Commonwealth residents," Scarnati said. "We have a great deal to accomplish in the coming year and challenges ahead, but I feel confident with this great team in place we can serve the people well."

Let's see, Joe is always crying about how the Dems waste money, yet he has no problem employing tons of people when the economy is so bad. All they do is make up one big reelection service for him.
He doesn't pay them out of his own pocket either, we do!!! Remember when he voted himself a big raise in the midnight vote? What a piece of crap this guy is selling the taxpayers! I'm not voting for him for dogcatcher.

The Nyquists profit very nicely from this whole insider game. Their goal is to advance specific political and economic causes and certain careers (like their own). The stars are aligning nicely with Justice Orie, Lt. Gov. Scarnati and others who are part of the "in" crowd. Those who pay to play will benefit as this power structure continues to be assembled.
As for the "public interest.'
Ha, yea.... right.
