PORT ALLEGANY RESIDENT SENTENCED IN POTTER COUNTY
In recent Potter County Court action, 20 year old Mark Chelgreen of Port Allegany was ordered to spend 48 hours to 6 months in jail; pay a total of $625 in fines; and surrender his driver’s license for 90 days for DUI (M), Purchase, Consumption, Possession, or Transportation of Liquor by an underage person (S), and Failing to Keep Right (S).
According to Potter County District Attorney Andy Watson, while on patrol this past July 25, State Police observed Chelgreen committing several traffic violations while following Chelgreen’s vehicle on SR 6 in Eulalia Township. Troopers noted that the Chelgreen’s car crossed the double yellow line several times and also was observed moving at an erratic speed.
When troopers pulled Chelgreen over, and interviewed him, they detected an odor of alcohol. Chelgreen failed the field sobriety test and was taken to Charles Cole Hospital for chemical testing where his BAC was determined to be .10% slightly about the legal limit in Pennsylvania for adults, .08%. A lot has to do with previous record (if any). That plays a part in sentencing.
