Ronald W. Hostetlar, 43, of Austin, PA died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, PA.
Born on October 5, 1966 in Coudersport, he was the son of Ronald E. and Donna M. Lentz Hostetlar.
Ronnie was a graduate of Austin High School, Seneca Highlands Vocational Technical School, and Triangle Tech in DuBois, PA. He had been employed with Pure Carbon Co. in Coudersport, Motor Coils and GKN Sinter Metals in Emporium, PA. He was most recently employed as a rural mail carrier with the U. S. Postal Service in the Port Allegany, Duke Center, and Roulette areas.
From 1986-1987 Ronnie served with the U. S. Navy, assigned to the USS Eisenhower. He was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Austin Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 1984.
Ronnie is survived by his parents, Ronald and Donna Hostetlar of Austin, his fiancĂ©, Gina Dennis with whom he lived for the past 7 years, his maternal step-grandmother, Esther Lentz of Bethesda, MD, two sons, Edward A. Hostetlar of Austin, and Chad E. (Kelly) Dennis of Clinton, Maine, a daughter, Angelique M. (Adam) Wolman of Winslow, Maine, four grandchildren, David Wolman, Faith Wolman, Lia Wolman, and Trevor Dennis, two brothers, Matthew (Diane) Hostetlar of Virginia Beach, VA, and Scott (Tracy) Hostetlar of Austin, a sister, Amanda Hostetlar and her fiancĂ©, Scott Crumrine of Austin, one niece, four nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Delores Lentz, his paternal grandparents, Edward Hostetlar and Rachel Haynes Hostetlar Boyer, and an uncle, Marvin “Jingles” Lentz, Jr.
Friends may call from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Fickinger Funeral Home, Coudersport. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday at the Austin United Methodist Church with the Reverend John Baney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice or to Type 1 Diabetes Research.
