Car Crash Results In Death Of Wellsboro Girl

A 17-year-old Wellsboro girl died in Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre from injuries she suffered in a one-car accident Wednesday in Tioga County, Pa.

A nursing supervisor at the hospital on Sunday night could not release when Jillian Rupert was pronounced dead.

The teen had been alone in her car and driving on Ely Hill Road in Delmar Township when she lost control on a curve. More...

Jillian D. Rupert, Age 17, of American Street, Wellsboro, PA, passed away May 22, 2010.

Jillian was born September 2, 1992 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of Jeff and Mel Hayes Rupert.

She was a Junior at Wellsboro High School and had been employed by Peg-Omar. Jillian was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was an avid athlete in basketball, track, cross country, soccer and swimming. She was enrolled in the Culinary program at Wellsboro High School.

Surviving are her parents; brother, Justin Rupert, Wellsboro; fraternal grandparents, David and Emma Lou Rupert, Wellsboro; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to Jillian's Life Celebration on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Wellsboro Area High School gymnasium. Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Central Avenue, Wellsboro, with Rev. John Chmil officiating.
