A 16 year old female who crashed on Ridge Road in Genesee Township on July 7 at 3:10 pm will be cited by State Police in District Court 55-4-01 for (not) Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.
The girl, from Genesee, PA, was traveling north along Ridge Road, about .5 mile south of the intersection with Rt. 449. She was negotiating a slight right hand curve when she encountered a deer upon the east side of the roadway. The 1997 Chevrolet S 10 the girl was driving then crossed over the southbound lane and into a ditch on the west side of the road. It continued along the ditch striking the embankment and several trees.

Her S-10 sustained disabling damage to the windshield, engine compartment and undercarriage and was towed from the scene by Kightlinger Motors.
State Police released the report today.

Why are theycharging her for driving at an unsafe speed when a deer jumped in front of her?? I mean if she was just going to fast and ddn't make the corner it would be different!
because they cant ticket the water trucks an other well related trucks so they have to get their points somewhere an thats a fact i call them sereval time an i know of at least 4 other people that call an nothing was done goes to show how they are working for
And just HOW do they determine that she was not driving at a safe speed? Were they there? Did they clock her? Skid marks? She and her family should take this to court if they can afford it. That is the thing though, the cops know most people won't fight it because they can't affort to so they sock it to them. What a racket!
Because she hit several trees after trying to avoid the trees, the evidence shows she was unable to come to a stop safely. I do agree about the water trucks and all but come on we all know as experienced drivers the police can measure skid marks and determent speed, there for she must have be driving at an unsafe speed, what if she was unable to negotiate the turn and you were the one coming the other way not a deer, you would want her charged.
