Imagine that. You can balance a budget without raising or levying new taxes, a concept that most democratic polticians can't seem to grasp.

With that being said, take a close look at the cuts in badly needed programs to offset the increases that were not really necessary. Not exactly a fair trade or benefit to the majority.

Obviously you consider public education, the conservation of our natural resources, and support of local government "fat that needs to be trimmed". I am not saying that all of the cuts that were made are detrimental to the general public of the commonwealth, but I do see that it may and more than likely will, cause our local officials and school districts to raise their taxes to compensate where they can. Still not a positive outcome either way.
