ROVERS HERE WE COME AGAIN

When I was in school, it was a 3 mile walk, uphill in both directions and the snow was crotch deep...even in the summer!

12:56 the game was a blowout, coudy was never close all night

So basically 5yr. olds posted comments on here because adults SHOULD know better! Both teams did their best last night. It is a sport, try to remember that when you post such nasty comments. Those kids have feeling whether they win or lose. Both teams have worked hard this year.

Why in the hell did Port Allegany keep it's starters in the game untl the last couple minutes? I wonder how the parents of all the kids who stood on the sidelines and never got a chance to play were feeling. As far as football talent Port Allegany was a big winner on Friday night, but as far as I am concerned that coach is a big loser when it comes to the things that really matter in life, like sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, fairness and I could go on.

And when I was in school, it was all about Cameron County

And, congratulations to the Coudy Falcons and their coaches for a great season.

If you're down 20-0 at halftime and lose by 42 points, the game is never as close as you might want to think it is. This butt whooping couldn't have happened to a better team, Coudersport is always thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread, glad to see my Alma Mater putting them in their place! GO GATORS! 2011 AML NORTH CHAMPS!

Anonymous said...

yeah it's nice to see another team with the bragging rights other than Cameron county and Coudersport.. Good job boys.. I hope your ride is longer than one game in the playoffs..

Anonymous said...

Post 12:56, nice try. And post 7:07, that is usually a Coudy tactic isn't it? HA ! WAY TO GO GATORS !!!!!

Anonymous said...

If Coudy wasn't always on such a high horse, maybe there wouldn't be snide comments on here. Congrats Gators !

9:51 will seed there are that dam good

I agree on this bull about leaving the starters in on a muddy field when it was a blowout. I wonder if the fact that the coach's son is the quarterback has something to do with it. Very classless act there, Bodamer. I don't blame the kids at all. What a great performance, Gators! Congratulations and good luck in the AML title game and the playoffs. Congratulations to ALL the Gators including the kids who stood on the sidelines all night while the coach ran up the score and you were forced to be spectators.

Perhaps the presence of three COLLEGE SCOUTS in the stands accounted for the actions of the Port coach...

Anonymous said...

great performance by the port kids last night - congrats!!!

coudy kids great season - congrats!!!

two great football teams and great kids...been fun to watch and hope both teams kick a little butt in the playoffs!!

Always "Sour Grapes" no matter what. Can't please everybody. I WILL have to agree that ALL players should get a change SOMETIME in the game. How are they going to get better and be good players if they never get the chance to prove thmeselves? Happens all the time although it isn't right. Way to go Gators! And way to go Falcons! You are BOTH good teams. (And I am from Port)

I'm sure coudy has beaten Port just as bad in past years. People never forget when it happens to them.. An I'm sure this was a pay back... Remember what comes around goes around.. or vise versa... It's been a long drought for Port.. Savor it, it doesn't last forever..

Anonymous said...

Congrats to both teams and especially the Gator boys!! The schedule worked out great this year, saving this game till last. It was highly anticipated by both communities!! Port did win, but both teams should be proud to move on in playoffs!! Good luck -- maybe they'll meet again??

Anonymous said...

I don't think any team north or south could have beat port last night. Two 8-1 teams from the north is awesome. congratz to both teams on a great season. best of luck to both teams going forward. both teams have a group of great young men on them with a lot to be proud of.

yeah ... Where is CAmeron County... bahhahaha

now this is funny, starters in too long, are you kidding me. They filtered some subs in & out in the 3rd qtr, took all the starters out in the 4th. Whining about that is saying Port ran the score up, be happy, it could have been a lot worse. And running up the score, apparently you Coudy folk do not recall a few years ago in Port up more than 2 TD's, less than a minute to go there was a fake punt run for a TD, Now that is running up the score!

My God 6:44 you ought to wrap yourself in the Falcon Dildine Power banner (it got very muddy Friday night) and wait at the curb for Gorzelanny's Waste Service. You are saying that the Port kids who stood there watching the game with clean uniforms waiting and waiting to get a chance were paying the price because of something that they didn't have anything to do with a few years ago? And Coudersport's coach is in his second year and had nothing to do with whatever you're babbling about to justify the poor sportsmanship. Bodamer even had his starters in on kickoffs for crying out loud, including his son, the talented quarterback. You can't be serious, can you? Just admit that it was an insult to everybody involved and especially his own players and that can be the end of the discussion. If not, what is Gorzelanny's phone number? We have to schedule a pickup of a dildine inside a dildine along the road near CARP Park.

Being the parent of one of the Coudersport cheerleaders, I first want say congratulations to the Gators, you played a good game. To the Falcons, you have played hard and have had a great season. But my main reason for posting is to tell ALL of the Cheeleaders from EVERY school that we appreciate your commitment to your football team. Senior Night can be tough as you feel like you are saying Goodbye to friends that you have made for 6 years. I often don't think that the Cheerleaders are given the recognition that they deserve-They are out there giving their 100% as well, whether it is sunny, raining, or snowing, They Are Out There! Congratulations to the GIRLS as well. Now, on to the playoffs.

A Cheerleaders Mom!

7:51 The worst part of the Gator team this year has been there kick coverage so I do not blame them for working on that & there were subs in on the 5th or maybe 6th, wait 7th....how many TD's were there? Anyways, nobody was saying anybody was "paying" for anything anybody dids a few years ago. Point was to the posters to quit whining about running up the score when your team has done it many times before. The show is on the other foot. Oh, and it is the same coach, just a different title.

You all oughta be a shame of yourselves for posting such nasty comments, the game is about the kids, not the coaches or anyone else, as parents you need to be setting an example! both teams played their hearts out and both teams did their best so keep your nasty comments to yourselves & yes the kids read this as well as you do! Act like Adults! there always will be a winner & there will always be a loser no matter what no one can change it!

Anonymous said...

The game was never close! I didn't see a lot of Coudy subs either. Plenty of clean purple uni's!

yet another reason why high school sports need to go away. STUDENT-Athletes. Funny how there is never this much discussion about the ACADEMIC traits of these men and women.

Anonymous said...

Their test scores are not posted on here or we would. get a life, sports are great for kids, builds character & keeps them involved instead of getting into trouble with nothing else to do.

Anonymous said...

11:54, I disagree. Check the honor roll listing in any area high school, and you will find a disproportionate number of honor students names who also excel in sports, captain the cheer squad, lead the band, or perform in the color guard. Read the acceptance lists to colleges and military academies, and again, you'll find the same names that regularly appear in the sports pages. Excelling in sports or any other extra0curricular activity requires the same traits that excelling in academics requires; dedication, hard work, and character. Don't be so quick to stereotype these kids as "dumb jocks". They are truly "student-athletes".

band geeks all the way!!!

You stay classy Port Agony and trust me, there were no scouts at the game.

For all you arm chair quarterbacks who know nothing about what is going on, Port did not run up the score. Coudy was stilling trying to win late in the 3rd quarter (like they should). Port had all starters out early in the 4th. As far as the kickoff team is concerned, they only have 1 kick off team. Port, like most schools around had no JV team, so they have ONE kick off team that they always use. Usually fielded by the "non-starters". Bodamer was only on the return team because they felt that Coudy was going to on-side kick it. Everyone needs to stop being "haters" and just enjoy high school football.

Anonymous said...

Back in my day Mina was the team to beat! Oh the memories.

Anonymous said...

Is that what happened to Otto-Eldred? They were up 20 to 6 at halftime and they felt sorry for Coudy and put in their subs? Running up the score!!!!! Some of you people have no IDEA what you are talking about. Port played a good solid game and their coaches did the RIGHT thing. Most starters for Port have not played a 4th quarter in about 4 weeks. THAT could come back to hurt them in the play-offs. This is not Little League people.

Anonymous said...

Port runs up the score??? Well lets look at their last five games against the north division. First quarter they have scored 83 points, second quarter 74 points, third quarter 47 points, and fourth quarter 28 points. 14 of the 28 fourth quarter were scored by their subs and 7 points against a very good Sheffield team. Running up the score?? I think not!!! You people that have slammed their coaches should post a "I'm sorry ".

Anonymous said...

3:19 not little league.. Roflmao what do you think it is the big leagues.. it's high school football get a grip..

Anonymous said...

It may be hard to admit but I don't feel that Coudy came to play & Port did. Accept it. Sports are good for kids as it teaches them to accept defeat as well as victory (life lessons). We all have failures we have to deal with as adults that are a heck of a lot more traumatic than high school sports & losing a game. It is time for the adults to start acting like adults about high school sports. All of the players, cheerleaders & band members did an awesome job and I know I sure do enjoy their efforts and would not want to see this local form of entertainment to go away. It helps to keep many kids out of trouble too. Many parents need to quit trying to live their lives vicariously thru their children, trying to protect them from the realities of life (you will lose sometimes), and politics -- there will be favortism in the workplace too so put your big boy or girl panties on & deal with it! Amen....

Anonymous said...

Coudersport alwayyyys runs up the score in every sport any chance they get.. but when the shoe is on the other foot everyone wants to criticize the integrity of Port's coaches.. Get a life people.. I think it was a great effort on both sides. I think it's a great lesson that Bodamer is teaching his team.. Do your best, never quit. They played their best game until the final whistle, nothing wrong with that.

For the record, at the conclusion of the game, both teams lined up, walked down each others lines and shook hands. The coaches met at the middle of the field, shook hands and talked for a few minutes. I heard congratulations and "good luck"'s from both teams (remember, Coudy's season is not over), and as the Port kids walked off of the field, I heard the Coudy cheerleaders congratulating the Port kids for a great game. So, it appears as though the adults were all on the field Friday night, and the children are posting to this blog.

As far as Port's coaches teaching lessons, maybe it would be a good lesson to treat all of the team the same, instead of having a 'favorite' or 'the best athlete on the field' being treated like, well, a coaches kid.......
