Irvin D. “Cutter” Strawcutter of 4258 Niles Hill Road, Wellsville, NY

Irvin D. “Cutter” Strawcutter of 4258 Niles Hill Road, Wellsville, passed away Monday (Dec. 12, 2011), at Cuba Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family. Mr. Strawcutter was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Brookville, Pa., the son of Ray Edward and Evelyn McManigle Strawcutter. On March 8, 2009, in Cuba, he married the former Sharon Lounsberry, who survives.

Cutter was a graduate of Kane High School, Class of 1955

After graduation he served in the Army as a Ranger for two years. He then worked for National Fuel Gas as a Field Supervisor in the Regulator Dept. for 35 years, retiring in 1997.

Cutter was known for his love of cars; antique, stock cars, repairing them and racing them, he loved it all. He enjoyed time with his friends, being a friend to everyone, particularly of “Dr. Bob and Bill W.”; Eating out, being a regular at the Texas Hot and Modern Diner.

Surviving Cutter, besides his wife, are his mother, Evelyn McManigle Strawcutter of Kane, Pa.; three sons, Dennis K. Strawcutter of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin D. (LeAnna) Strawcutter of Smethport, Pa., and Roger R. (Codie) Strawcutter of Allegany; one daughter, Cathy J. (Shawn Lehman) Strawcutter of Wellsville; five stepsons- David (Jackie) Faulkner of Scio, Rob (Kim) Faulkner of Alfred Station, Mark (Christine) Faulkner of Rochester, Gene (Mark Williamson) Faulkner of Cuba, and Wayne (Susan) Smith of Houston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Rebecca (Elvis) Bell of Crestview, Fla.; five grandchildren- Kolin, Carter, Tyler, Mitchell Strawcutter, and Camille Denning; 14 stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and close friends; and four sisters, Shirley Dietz of Kane, Pa., Jacqueline Hinkle of Kane, Pa., Donna (Ted) Johnson of Kane, Pa., and Sandra Oliver of Coral Springs, Fla.

Friends will be received on Thursday (Dec. 15, 2011) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, 296 N. Main St., Wellsville. A memorial service will be held on Friday (Dec. 16, 2011) at 2 p.m. in the Episcopal Church of Our Savior in Bolivar.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
