The American Pickers are coming to PA!

Potter County Commissioner Susan Kefover passed this on to us--Frank & Mike Are Coming To PA

The American Pickers are coming to PA!

Hi Susan,

My name is Jodi Friedman and I'm one of the producers for the show American Pickers on History Channel. We are headed to PA soon so we're looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with interesting items and lots of ‘em! I was hoping you might be able to assist us in spreading the word throughout your county!

I'm attaching a brief of the show for anyone who isn't familiar with it, as well as a list of items that we're looking for (although we're open to other items). We're also looking for any oddball or interesting historical items, in addition to PA-specific memorabilia.

Also, please note that Mike and Frank only pick private collections so no stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public.

My contact info is below, don't hesitate to call me with any questions.

Warmly,
Jodi

It makes me so very happy to know these two individuals are going to come to our area to take advantage of people for their show.

Anonymous has obviously never been in the antique business. Buy low, sell high is the name of the game. You can't pay retail for items and make any money when you have overhead, payroll, gas for the van, etc etc to pay for. Not to mention the knowledge one has to have in order to know values and what is desirable to others. A 100% markup is just about what you have to have to make any money at all in that business. That said, I am excited to know that they are coming to our area, I would love to meet Mike and Frank and have them poke through our junk barn!

Pennsylvania is a big state. There are about 75 counties, right? What are the odds that they are coming here? Why is this so exciting to everybody?

I bet they would be able to find some pretty cool stuff if they stopped to see Billy Nenno. I may have spelled his last name wrong, but he lives in Roulette and I know he used to be into collecting old cars and parts.

People more excited about junk then a Democrat. About time people got their priorities straight.

I don't think it's people being more excited by junk, but enjoying things once in the while. Not everything has to be so serious all the time. Life is short. Have fun.

Oh please let someone tell him about Bundy's Junkyard. Maybe they'll haul all of it away!!! One can only hope. Old Leon wouldn't mind.

9:34, you are one of the many people that ruin excitement for something out of the ordinary; and, there are 67 counties in Pennsylvania. If you ever watched the show those 2 guys are always traveling through rural areas, and I do believe that Potter County qualifies for it. People are excited because it's not everyday that a big time TV show comes through our area. Quit being so unhappy and try to be happy once in awhile, drop the negativity people!!

My grandfather was a big fan of the show but he pasted away a little over a month ago. He has a lot of stuff but don't know what he all has in his garage. I do not know my grandmother will all want to sell but needs to get rid of something's.
