Kane Woman Sentenced to State Prison
A Kane woman was sentenced Thursday in mcKean County Court to 16 months to three years in state prison.

well they say if you want to mollest kids come to mckean county just dont write a bad check while doin it you will get 30 days for mollesting the kid and 2 years for the check

Agreed. This article doesn't have enough information, however; from the way it's written, it appears that "several" checks, assumed to be for $50 each, were cashed/forged by the defendant. Wouldn't that amount to less than $1,000? Much worse offenses have resulted in a slap on the wrist. For example, a few years ago an individual embezzled tens of thousands from their employer and only received probation.

THIS is McKean County justice for you...I am NOT condoning what she did either....but you are offenders get less time, it seems that dui's or bad checks...even drug related offenses...What really po's me is when someone defrauds the public like this, then when A LEGITIMATE collection is around, people don't or won't give money because they many have already been's a sad state of affairs when people do this kind of thing.....but it does seem a bit harsh for the amount involved......just sayin

a prior record score is used when someone is sentenced, if she has a record more time can be added.

16 months isn't really that long...

she missed a county sentence by only four months.

If this article is correct she takes $50 and gets 16 months to 3 years in STATE PRISON but Evie Switzer, deadbeat unamerican, from foxs pizza in eldred steals $80k in sales tax and employer with holding tax and she gets 20-100 days in Mckean County jail with work release. How is this possible?

She took $50.00 from more than one person, she forged personal checks and cashed them.

Both are serious offenses!

I don't get how or why there needs to be all this comparing to other peoples crimes/sentences. SO MANY things go into a plea agreement, trial and the factors for a person to be sentenced. Every case, every crime is different and news releases contain the bare minimum of information....
