No Injuries When Steering Fails/Car goes Down Embankment

A Roulette woman and her 2 year old female passenger were both uninjured on Tuesday at 1:00 PM when a malfunction in her car's steering mechanism caused the vehicle to travel across the roadway and down over an embankment.

Sara C. McNamara, 26, Roulette, PA, was wearing a safety belt and the child was in a car safety seat when the car left the roadway on Route 6, about 3/10 mile east of Reed Run Road.

Trooper James R. Culvey, said the 2005 Buick Rendezvous was traveling west on Rt. 6 when an apparent equipment malfunction of the left front suspension/steering system caused McNamara to be unable to steer. The vehicle traveled across the eastbound lane and down an embankment on the south side of the roadway, where it came to rest.

Coudersport Fire Department responded to the scene in Roulette Township and assisted troopers. The vehicle was towed by Kightlinger's.

Vehicles need maintenance. You can't just drive them forever and expect them to work just fine. I don't know the details but I would put money on the maintenance schedule not being followed for that vehicle.
