3 Hurt In Crash At Burtville Cut On Friday

Three people from Roulette were transported by ambulance to Charles Cole Hospital Friday evening when their 2007 Nissan Murano crashed into a 2002 Ford F-250 that had just avoided a crash with another vehicle that had lost control and was in his lane on Route 6 at the Burtville Cut.

Michael A. Borro, 55, of Roulette, PA and his passengers Thrisa L. Borro, 44, and a 15 year old female juvenile, were all transported to Charles Cole Hospital by ambulance after the crash.

The driver of the Ford pickup truck, Ronald A. Corey, 52, of Yardley, PA, was unhurt in the crash

Fire Police from Roulette were first dispatched at 5:44 PM for traffic control at the scene of a disabled vehicle at the Burtville Cut.  Upon arrival, Fire Police found that they were on scene of a traffic crash and a full response was requested. Road conditions were extremely icy and very slippery.

Trooper John Herold, who investigated the crash, described the crash: This crash occurred on snow covered roadways. Corey was traveling westbound on US Rt. 6, and swerved to miss an oncoming vehicle that had entered his lane from the eastbound lane of travel.

This unidentified vehicle had lost control and had entered the westbound lane of travel.

Corey then entered the eastbound lane of travel avoiding the oncoming vehicle in his lane, and then was struck by the Nissan driven by Borro. Borro's Nissan was traveling eastbound and was following the unidentified vehicle that lost control. That vehicle did not remain at the scene.

All occupants were wearing seat restraints. No citations were issued. Michael Borro's injuries were listed as minor. His passengers injuries were of unknown severity according to police.
