A Smethport man and two children were transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center on Tuesday at 1:57 PM when the vehicle they were traveling in crashed into an embankment after swerving to miss a black pickup truck that pulled out from the roadside in front of them.

James L. Neely, 24, of Smethport, PA, a 3 year old, and a baby were the occupants of the vehicle that crashed. Police said Neely and the 3 year old were injured. It was unknown if the baby suffered any injuries.

Trooper Andrew Brothers, who investigated said Neely was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound on Rt. 46, north of Foltz Road in Keating Township, when he swerved his vehicle sharply to the left to avoid a black pickup that pulled out from the southbound shoulder of the roadway. The Cavalier lost traction ans spun out of control and struck the roadside ditches and embankment, coming to rest in the roadway
