5 Out Of 15 Alcohol Sellers Sold To Underage In Allegany County Initiative

State Police Amity - Underage Drinking Initiative results in 5 arrests
The New York State Police in Amity, in conjunction with the New York State Liquor Authority, conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative on Thursday November 24, 2012. The initiative was designed to cover several alcohol providing businesses throughout the Allegany County area. The detail visited 15 different locations ranging from local bars to convenient stores. As a result of the detail the following individuals were arrested:

DENNIS GILDNER, age 56, of Belfast, NY, was arrested and charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. GILDNER sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 years of age at the American Legion Post 808 Community Lanes, 29 Schuyler St, Belmont, NY. GILDNER was issued an appearance ticket ordering him to appear at the Village of Belmont Court on 12/05/12 at 7:00PM.

MARK HADSELL, age 58, of Scio, NY, was arrested and charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. HADSELL sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 years of age at JC's Tavern, 31 Schuyler St, Belmont, NY. HADSELL was issued an appearance ticket ordering him to appear at the Village of Belmont Court on 12/05/12 at 7:00PM.

AMY HADAWAY, age 30, of Houghton, NY, was arrested and charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. HADAWAY sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 years of age at the A-Z Quick Stop, located at 8874 SR-243, Rushford, NY. HADAWAY was issued an appearance ticket ordering her to appear at the Town of Rushford Court on 12/17/12 at 4:00PM.

CARL CREGO, age 72, of Angelica, NY, was arrested and charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. CREGO sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 years of age at the Birdsall Inn, located at 9011 CR-15B, Birdsall NY. CREGO was issued an appearance ticket ordering him to appear at the Town of Birdsall Court on 12/06/12 at 7:30PM.

JOSHUA CREGO, age 19, of Angelica, NY, was arrested and charged with Prohibited Sale of an Alcoholic Beverage. CREGO sold alcohol to a person under the age of 21 years of age at the Birdsall Inn, located at 9011 CR-15B, Birdsall NY. CREGO was issued an appearance ticket ordering him to appear at the Town of Birdsall Court on 12/06/12 at 7:30PM.

We need to raise the drinking age to 50, that will stop them.

Why don't we just ban alcohol and cigarettes nationwide and legalize marijuana? This would solve all kinds of problems....

Should lower the age to 18. A family friend of mine is home right now from his third tour in Iraq as a United States Marine. He cant enjoy a beer with me though. Because he would be breaking the law. But hey, thanks for risking your life for this country every day for the last 3 years...

Its funny how they got busted for serving minors but somehow the arresting officers failed to notice the people smoking in these places. That is illegal too.
