Acorn Markets Partner with Animal Care Sanctuary

Acorn Markets Partner with Animal Care Sanctuary

Wellsboro, PA: November 15th, the managers of Putnam Company’s Acorn Markets from Westfield, Wellsboro, Tioga, Elkland, Canton, Galeton, Blossburg, Genesee, and Shinglehouse in Pennsylvania; plus Addison, Andover, and Canisteo in New York, all convened to initiate a Season of Giving Fund Raiser for Animal Care Sanctuary in Wellsboro. The name of the program is “Join our Cawz, Save Some Pawz.”

“ACS provides a safe, clean environment for surrendered pets until they can place them in loving homes. We know they receive no government funding, and rely on donations, so this year Acorn Markets will be helping them gain donations through a placard program,” said Marketing Manager Tina Kambouris. “We’ve asked our stores’ employees to sell the placards to our customers for $1 at time of checkout November 15th through December 20th. The funds will then be collected and presented to ACS. We like to help locally based non-profits, and the shelter animals were a great match to be our community outreach project this season.”

Animal Care Sanctuary is a 501c3, non-profit organization based in East Smithfield since 1988. An ACS satellite office has been in business for 14 months in the facility located at 11765 Route 6, Wellsboro, PA. ACS is a nurturing stepping stone for animals of all kinds, and whose vision is to be a center of excellence, and leader in all animal services.

“ACS has adopted 132 animals from the Wellsboro facility so far this year,” said Wendy Reber, Wellsboro Director. “We are so thankful to have companies like The Putnam Company who recognize our need and want to give back. 100% of the proceeds their employees raise on behalf of the animals will go directly to the animals’ medical, physical, and emotional care while they are in our home, until we can successfully place them with a loving family. Many thanks go out to the Acorn Markets and their customers who give for our shelter animals.”

All Acorn Markets are open 7 days per week, and hours of operation vary in each location (listed above.)

Animal Care Sanctuary is open 7 days a week, 10 am to 4 pm. Please contact us for further information at (570)724-3687, 11765 Route 6, Wellsboro, PA 16901, or (570)596-2200, 353 Sanctuary Hill Lane, East Smithfield, PA 18817.

Did they get the million dollar bequest earmarked for the SPCA to be located in Potter County? If not, who did?

Blessings on them for their care of animals.
