Police say a Bradford man, 27, will be facing charges at a later date for Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, a misdemeanor, after he reportedly lied several times to Probation Officers who were seeking a Potter County woman who didn't appear for jury selection in a drug trial in Potter County Court.
The woman, Tanya Popielarczyk, also known as Tanya Beimel, 28, whose address is listed in court papers as Austin, PA, was scheduled to be in court on November 1, 2012 for jury selection for her trial on the following charges from October of 2010:
On November 9th, between 10:00 am and 11:00 am, Potter County Probation, along with
McKean County Probation, served a bench warrant for Popielarczyk. She was staying with the unnamed 27 year old male in Eldred Borough.
The male repeatedly lied to Probation Officers advising that he did not know the whereabouts of Popielarczyk. Probation Officers then discovered her inside the residence where the male was staying.
She was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Clinton County Prison pending further court action.
