Ford looking to donate vans

Applications are available for the 2013 Ford Friendship Express program, which will provide vans to nonprofit organizations.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 2, To be eligible, groups must reside in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, or Allegany County in New York state, or in McKean or Potter County in Pennsylvania.
The Western New York Ford Dealers group is looking at giving away three vans, depending on the applications and available vans. To obtain an application, go to www.wnyford.com, and click on the heading for local events.
The dealers group created the program in 1996 and has awarded 68 vans to local nonprofits, valued at more than $1.7 million. The 2013 recipients will be announced at the Buffalo Auto Show in February.
