Genesee Area Library News

Genesee Area Library News: Join us Saturday December 1 for Reading With Rufus 2 PM - 4 PM

They don't often let dogs into the Genesee Are Library, but then Rufus, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, is not just any dog.

With his owner, Sharon Smoker, Rufus is specially trained as a Reading Education Assistance Dog (READ) that helps young readers read better.

READ dogs are specially trained to be passive in the presence of young children who then learn to read aloud with confidence.

Smoker, is a new member of R.E.A.D. A program of Intermountain Therapy Animal

The Genesee Area Library is the first library in the area to off this program. Join us December 1 from 2 PM until 4 PM and meet Rufus. Let us introduce you to this wonderful program and let us help build reading confidence in your child. Contact the library for more information.
