I-80 EB maintenance work scheduled in Eastern Columbia County next week

Weather permitting, a PennDOT maintenance crew in Columbia County will perform crack-sealing operations along Interstate 80 eastbound from mile markers 243 (east of Mifflinville) to 247 (Columbia/Luzerne county line) on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 14 and 15.

Work will be performed from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. under daylight signing and lane closures. The crew will be changing lane closures from the driving to the passing lane at various times during the operation. Also, the mobile pavement patcher will be on-site and used where required to fill any small potholes that have developed along the centerline joint.

Motorists are advised to stay alert to the changing traffic conditions along I-80 eastbound in eastern Columbia County next week. Watch for possible slow-moving or stopped traffic in advance of the work zone.

If additional time is needed, the work will continue on Monday and/or Tuesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 19-20).
