Large Drug Operation Found in Elk Co.
A Brockport man is in jail after a federal search warrant uncovered an elaborate drug operation in his home.
A federal warrant was executed earlier this month at the home of 54-year-old James Volpe following a four-month investigation.
At the house, police found 65 marijuana plants growing behind a false wall in the basement, along with growing equipment and digital scales. They also found more than a pound of methamphetamine, $2,600 in cash, and a pill-making machine with, according to the criminal complaint, hundreds if not thousands of pills. Police also found a .22 caliber handgun in Volpe’s garage.
He is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of a firearm. He is on federal probation, and prohibited from having a firearm.
Volpe is in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in front of District Judge Tony King.

It will be longer due to prior conviction
30% of the people who get out of prison are arrested again within 6 months. 67% are arrested again within the next 3 years.
The ones not part of that statistic are mostly the ones who are more careful about getting caught but the the people who are actually reformed through the system are a very small number.
His last stint in prison might have been where he met a lot of his current connections. Prison is a social network for criminals.

Almost every criminal I ever met was a peaceful ,good, understanding, caring, family loving, dedicated to his wife kinda' guy. Just ask them.

Reformed or not, at least he is kept away from the rest of us while he is rotting in jail. His failure to be rehabed is on him. I'm sure he was given plenty of opportunity, education, ect on my dime. He didn't learn. Let him rot. I'd rather contribute to the cost of incarceration than contribute to his govt assistance.

Don't get too friendly..I am sure we will be reading about these criminals stealing from you..or molesting your children or grandchildren. Statistics prove..they cannot be reformed! Open you eyes and watch your kids around these convicts!
