That don't surprise me....
Kudos To this blog. I really like the new format you are using for your police report sections. It is straight forward and only gives what the person is charged with. In the past the police in your area may have had the tendancy to gild the lilly a bit, when writting their reports. Now I only wonder how many of the charges will be dropped? If only you could file the report again after the charges are dropped to see how many are valid. JUST A THOUGHT. Keep up the good work Officer Wentzel! We all feel safer knowing you are on the job
7:52,
I also like this format better, much easier I would imagine.
I think that you are assuming that this is the new police report? This is just a news release. The report must contain the complete details of each and every offense.
The dropping of charges is usually part of the plea deal which doesn't mean that charge didn't occur but rather why spend tax dollars proving it when the defendant and the DA (or victim if there is one) can agree on a reasonable punishment.
Again, because charges are dropped doesn't mean they didn't happen. Filing a "new report" after a PLEA DEAL is backwards and pointless.
some people never change......
