PENNDOT TO OPEN OSTERHOUT STREET MONDAY AFTERNOON
PennDOT to Open Osterhout Street Monday Afternoon
Detour will be lifted after the road opens
Ridgway – PennDOT expects to open the Osterhout Street (State Route 1014)
bypass in Ridgway late in the afternoon on Monday, Nov. 12. Crews have been
working since March to reconstruct and realign Osterhout Street in order to
lessen truck traffic congestion in Ridgway Borough and easily access
northbound Route 219. Trucks and passenger vehicles will be able to use Osterhout
Street
Once Osterhout Street is open, PennDOT will lift the detour on Routes 120
and 219. Overall work has included utility relocation, asbestos removal, major
excavation, roadway construction, paving, roadway markings, and
miscellaneous items.
The 2013 construction season will address intersection improvements at
Route 219 (Broad Street) and Route 948 (Main Street). Those improvements will
include curbing, ADA ramps, and signal upgrades, with signal poles similar in style
to the current street lights.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. New Enterprise Stone and Lime
Co. Inc. is the contractor on this $2.75 million project.
