Time to open up your wallets PA taxpayers and fork over the money to clean this mess up.
Oh they left this part out of their radio commercial didnt they? Oops....
Maybe every citizen of PA should join this thing...
knew it was just a matter of time before the lawyers got involved. it'll be all downhill from here.
@10:39 am, Lawyers have been involved from day 1 of this fraud.
But it's the industry that employs the army of lawyers. In most every instance where the industry has been sued for ruining property or health of livestock, the injured local party always finds out that the industry already owns all the local lawyers.
There is only 1 study that actually looks at pollutant emissions from this industry, people across this nation have asked for the industry's data on emission, they never did any measurements. And the 1 study done by Cornell (by hanging gas measurement meters near installations and well sites) reflects very poorly on the industry's performance.
The EPA had a legally mandated requirement to do this testing or ensure the industry did it. That never happened.
And the study done by Cornell offers real evidence that the total sum of emissions from this industry exceeds that of the coal industry.
EPA was effectively turned into a rubber stamp agency by the Bush administration (Much like Corbett's DEP) and the current president has failed remarkably in addressing the volume of industry insiders who work for the EPA as political appointees.
Kneejerk reactions don't help at all. It really pays to be an informed citizen. You'd realize how badly we're being abused by corporate interests and hung out to dry, pay all the costs, by our own state and local governments.
