Anders Retires; Honored For 38 Years Of Service

Pictured are, left to right, Commissioner Doug Morley, Senior Center Manager, Cathy Anders and
Commissioner Susan Kefover.

On December 12th, there was a special dinner in honor of Cathy Anders held at the Oswayo Valley Senior Center. She is retiring on December 31st, after 38 years of service, at the Oswayo Valley Senior Center. Cathy is the Senior Center Manager and has done a wonderful job meeting the needs of the senior citizens in the area, as well as being in charge of many fundraisers to pay for expenses at the senior center.

The Area Agency on Aging staff, Commissioners, family and senior center participants gathered to honor Cathy and reminisce about Cathy’s many accomplishments and fun times at the Senior Center. Cathy gave her family a lot of credit for helping her with the many building improvements and fundraisers.

On December 5th, Cathy’s family hosted a retirement/birthday party for Cathy. Cathy received a special plaque, from Mayor Bonnie Hunt, for 38 years of serving the senior citizens in the Shinglehouse area. Potter County Human Services staff gave Cathy a clock with a picture of the Oswayo Valley Senior Center on the side.
