State Police investigated a crash on SR 872, 1/2 mile north of Bark Shanty Road in Keating Township on December 19 at 3:20 AM.
Donovan Jude McCurley, 21, of 224 W. 4th Street, Emporium, PA, claims he struck a deer, but kept on driving until the wheel fell off according to Trooper Derrick Watters of the Coudersport barracks.
Trooper Watters said McCurley was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. DUI charges have been filed.
