An investigation into the unattended death of a Genesee Township man is ongoing according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police at Coudersport.
Joseph Leon Cherry, 77, of 382 River Road, Genesee, PA, was found deceased inside his residence by members of the PSP Coudersport Patrol Unit on November 30, 2012. Cherry was pronounced deceased on 11-30-2012 at 8:15 PM by POtter County Coroner Kevin J. Dusenbury Sr.
Trooper David A. Surra said it has been determined that Cherry died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The incident is believed to have occurred between Nov. 27 at 6:00 pm and November 28 at 12:00 PM.
