Juvenile Had Alcohol In Galeton

State Police charged a 17 year old Potter County juvenile with underage possession of alcohol after the juvenile was found to have possessed alcohol at a private residence in Galeton Borough on December 9th at 10:30 AM.

The juvenile is being charged by Trooper Kocher through District Copurt 55-4-03. Troopers were assisted by Potter County Probation.

I'm going to assume he/they did something to make the cops angry and they didn't just charge a 17 year old on private property for possession of alcohol for something to do.

I doubt there is an officer on the force that didn't drink alcohol before 21 at some point.

At least it wasnt heroin. Which is really saying something for galeton

4:25 I thought the very same thing. Used to be cops would cut a young kid a break. Dump the beer, call the parents, and go home. Are they rewarded based on the number of citations they issue?

4:25 yeah that's it! Cops get angry and go around door to door looking for some unsuspecting innocent kid to take it out on. You know what they say about assuming...

MAYBE they got a tip from someone that this was happening?

The people who write these stupid comments on this site should not even be able to have them put on here.

Please help our kids in Pa by using the anonymous tip line if you know of planned activities that will include underage drinking or drug use

I would rather have him in a house on private property consuming alcohol than on the highway risking somebody's life. Sounds like he was being responsible to me. And yes, I know plenty of cops that drank when they were that age and younger. They are the ones that are hardest on the young kids. They also don't obey the traffic laws either, but they will arrest anybody else for speeding, not using a turn signal, running through stops signs, etc. They love the job because it's a power trip for them and they can break laws and get away with it. IMO!

If probation was involved then whoever this kid is, he/ she was already in trouble and being supervised. Educated guess is that they should up to do a home check.

Folks need to get over this anti-cop thing you got going on. It's not flattering, at all.

Kind weird that it's more important to look stupid just for the sake of getting in a dig about cops.

well I guess he or she broke the law. just to bad that it will mess up there whole life for just having a beer ar two. I guess should have just done some hard drugs and would have never been talked about again like ever time that happens

Until one of this so called innocent kid's..leave a party DRUNK..smash into a car, injure or kill a family member of yours...then you can bash on the cops some more. Why didnt they do their jobs,,yadda yadda...teens are always drinking in this town..can hear it already. Your never happy. And FYI..try being a cop for a week and dealing with the crap you people dish out...i bet i'd have an attitude also. You have no repsect!

Agree with 1035, dump beer and call the parents. No need to ruin his record for a couple beers.

Or better yet, don't waste your time at all with it unless it's an out of control issue and use your time finding the meth and heroin addicts.

People who hate authority usually have a stack of citations to justify it ! MY GUESS would be that the 17 yr old has ALREADY been in trouble enough times to be on PROBATION and THAT is why the police were called...BY the probation officer who apparently found him intoxicated at the "private residence". I love reading stupid people's comments...it makes me feel even smarter than I already is ! LOL

I always assume when people are bashing law enforcement they are either ex-cons, on probation or parole, uneducated, selling and/or smoking crack or just ignorant as hell sitting on their computers collecting unemployment, disability or welfare. Can't read. Can't write. But they think their opinion matters. LOL !!!

Get a life !

(just my opinion)

What is with this "ruin his life" crap?! It's a summary!! He gets a fine and a loss of license which is equivalent to a speeding ticket.

It's not that dramatic!!

I noticed that you posted at 10:51 on a thursday...speakin of unemployed losers, might you be one??? Must be a good job if not. Trolling the blog, trying to put in your 2 cents like they matter....See, I work 60 hours a week, pay my taxes ( probably way more that your lazy ass does), I have never tried a drug in my life, and nothing more than a speeding ticket on my record. But since my opinion of lazy ass douche bag cops is different from yours, you have the right to let your ass do all the talking right? I dont have to spend my days on here kissing ass in a bullshit post thinking some pig might read it and give me a break one day. But I DO believe in the constitution and the land of the free. Which we are losing a little more of every day because of brainwashed lab rats like yourself that still think they. are to "protect and serve". You are the problem with MY country. And I wish you would just go away.

What pre-school do you attend?

Anonymous said...

All of them. Why?

Anonymous said...

2:15.... Wow ! Talk about taking someone comment PERSONAL ! Sounds like you might need a vacation from your 60 hr/week job. Maybe you can find some underage beer party to attend in "your country" somewhere.... else !

FREAK !

Not a bad idea. Thanks

This is a summary offense. Repeat: summary offense. It's a fine, that's right, a fine.

Holy drama batman!?

_No on seems to know what the true affects of this fine can do for a 17 year old. They will have their dl taken away for at least 90 days. Once they are older this will still show on their dl, and will be the same as a dui. The insurance com. have no way of telling why it was suspended other then alcohol related. There goes a job they might have gotten if they run their dl. Also, no thought of any type of job in many fields, if they straighten out their life. It is sad that it has to be treated as such a crime, but times have changed!

Try being a cop. The "bad" people have more rights and protection under the laws then the cops.

To be fair 10:56,

The cops literally get away with murder on a regular basis

(not to mention harassment, battery, perjury, reckless endangerment, entrapment, violation of the 4th amendment and a litany of moving violations with their lights & siren turned off),

They also get to act holier than thou, bullying and threatening anyone that doesn't dispense the appropriate amount of ass kissing and badge licking.

so... it's a fair trade-off.

One group gets to be an unfairly protected street gang of violent thugs and criminals that does nothing but put an undue strain on our state budget. While the other group....

... well, wait a minute, now I got the two groups mixed up. I can't tell the difference.

lol never mind, the group on the left has uniforms, I got em straightened out now.

I know many police officers, state police and local cops. I have found them to be professional, and honest. As in all job fields, I'm sure there are a few idiots who give the good guys a black eye. Usually karma weeds them out.

6:38- this charge does not effect employment. I know first hand. Also, it's listed as an underage drinking not a DUI.
