K9 Tracks Suspects In Bolivar Drug Store Burglary/3 Arrested & Sent To Jail

Burglary in progress call at drug store in Bolivar call ends with arrests

On 12/5/12 at 7:55 PM NYSP Amity based Troopers Tavernier, Murphy, Dodge, Nolte and K9 partner Nugent, responded to a call of a burglary in progress at the Dunn's Drug Store located on 323 Main St in the Village of Bolivar. 

Witnesses stated that they saw three men enter the drug store through a back window, steal merchandise and then run away.

Tpr Nolte and K9 Nugent were able to track the suspects to 421 Main St. in the Village of Bolivar. Upon questioning a male subject outside the residence Tpr Tavernier was able to ascertain from the individual that the three involved suspects were inside his apartment. 

A perimeter was secured and shortly later three suspects were taken in to custody without incident. 

The suspects Kyle D. Stives 17 yo, Joseph R. Fenti 19 yo and Robert W. Smith 25 yo are all from Bolivar. The three were charged with the felonies of Burglary 2nd deg/armed with a deadly weapon and 2 counts each of Criminal possession of Narcotics with intent to sell. 

Proceeds from the burglary were recovered. Also recovered was a .380 handgun that one of the suspects was carrying during the burglary. 

All suspects were arraigned in the V/Bolivar court and remanded to the Allegany County jail. The Allegany County Sheriff's Department and the Bolivar Police Department both assisted with the investigation.

4 burglaries in a year? Put this kid away now. Gotta be a drug problem or just a bad seed.

Put them in prison where they belong...all of them have previous issues that are only getting worse, they need to go to prison before they kill someone over pills!!!
