Kane Woman Treated & Released After Sideswiping Truck

A Kane woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Kane Community Hospital on Friday after a two vehicle crash on Route 321 just before 2:00 PM.

Stevie J. Girts, 20, of Kane, PA, and a baby boy passenger were traveling south on Rt. 321 in a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country.

Victor D. Tindle, 42, of Duncansville, PA,  and his passenger, Adam W. Lees, 37, of Altoona, PA, were traveling in a 2008 International Harvester 430 truck, northbound in the area of the Castlebrook Drive intersection in Wetmore Township.

Trooper Michael Julock who investigated, said Girts, for an unknown reason, traveled into the northbound lane and sideswiped the truck. All occupants of the vehicles were restrained by safety equipment.

Girts was taken by Kane Ambulance to Kane Community Hospital where she was treated and released. She was charged with Roadways Laned For Traffic.

Do you think they'll check her phone for texting while driving ? She could have killed that child and people in the other vehicle ! I surely hope this is being investigated. Why else would she just drive into the other lane in middle of the afternoon ? This really bothers me because TOO MANY kids are risking lives glued to their phones while driving !
