Keith M. TRUAX, 84, of Ulysses, PA

Keith M. TRUAX, 84, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. 

Born July 25, 1928, in Potter Brook, PA, he was the son of Stephen and Elsie Robbins Truax. On November 12, 1955, in Gold, PA, he married the former Jean Stilson Gill, who survives. 

A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably in the US Army from 1950 – 1952. He was employed by the Eberle Tannery in Westfield, PA for over 38 years. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, and was an avid NASCAR fan. 

Keith was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702 in Wellsville, NY, Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963 in Ulysses, and Harold S. Lines VFW Post #6753 in Knoxville, PA. 

Surviving besides his wife, Jean, are: three daughters, Brenda (Marvin) Grover of Genesee, PA, Debbie (Leon) Graves of Middlebury Center, PA, and Penny (Doug) Prokopchuk of Wellsville, NY; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Madeline Vermilyea of Ulysses and Margery Mann of Addison, NY; nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Gill Zwieka in 2001; a brother, George W. Truax; and two sisters, Onnolee Hall and Ardell Baker. 

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, with Funeral Services following at 12:00 Noon. Pastor Harold Kiel will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702, 23 Jefferson Street, Wellsville, NY 14895 or Carl E. Hyde American Legion Post #963, P.O. Box 236, Ulysses, PA 16948. Online condolences may be expressed at www.olneyfuneralhome.com.

Jean, Debbie, Brenda and Penny,

I am so sorry to read about Keith's death. Debbie and I graduated together and I remember many good times back in the day. I know from personal experience what this loss does to you. Just know even if you don't think so it will get easier eventually. God Bless you all.
