Marie E. Marasco, 89, formerly of 73 Jefferson St., Bradford, PA

Marie E. Marasco, 89, formerly of 73 Jefferson St., Bradford, PA, passed away, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 14, 1923, in Liverpool, England, she was a daughter of the late John and Ellen (Hughes) Conway.

On September 16, 1947 in St. Bernard Church she married Anthony Marasco, who died, October 23, 1981.

Mrs. Marasco was educated at Nortre Dame Academy in England. She moved to the United States in 1945. She had worked at McCrory's 5 &10, and then later at Producers Bank & Trust in the booking department. She was also a volunteer with the Green Thumb Program at the VNA.

Surviving are two daughters, Christine (Kevin) Shaffer, of Bradford and Colette F. Eddy and her husband Allan Soll, of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, two sisters, Cecelia Jemitus, of England, and Joan Startire, of FL, one brother, Tony Conway, of England, four grandchildren, Tricia Poleto, Brian (Stephanie) Shaffer, Mark Poleto, Matthew Shaffer, one great grandson, Jacob Wilcox and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, A. Gregory Marasco.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 29, 2012 from 10:00am to 11:00am in St. Bernard Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev. Raymond Gramata. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
