Cate Barron: PA Media Group will offer same quality journalism with more digital offerings

The Patriot-News

Welcome to the first in a series of behind-the-scenes looks at PA Media Group, the new company home for The Patriot-News and We want to use this space over the next two weeks to talk about our increased commitment to digital journalism, preview the expanded three-day-a-week newspaper and answer questions you have about our plans.

Cate Barron is Editor of The Patriot-News and Vice President of Content for PA Media Group.
Since the new company was announced back in August, I’ve had conversations about our future with hundreds of readers from across central Pennsylvania and beyond.

It has been clear how much The Patriot-News means to many of you. Many people have expressed sadness about our planned reduction in print schedule to Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in 2013. We understand. We also know, however, the world is changing and we need to change with it if we are going to be able to serve our community long into the future. No plans to charge for content.....
