Does this also mean to pull over if emergency vehicle is on the other side of the road going the opposite direction?
wondering why 2 PSP cars went flying through millport, sharon center yesterday lights & sirens blarring driving like bats out of hell headed into Shinglehouse. someone find out!!
I move over somewhat when they are coming at me. You can't pull over and stop because the ones behind you will try to ram you when you try to continue on your way
The law actually says...on tha approach of sn emergency vehicle, you are to pull to the right and stop. It does not specify on whether the emergency vehicle is behind you or coming at you. Best bet, pull over and stop either way.
Yank the wheel!!!! Its a plow truck!!!!
A lot of people need refresher courses in how to drive.

DOUGHNUT SPECIAL, FRESH OUT OF THE FRIER
I have another question maybe someone can answer. I was always told that if it is not safe too pull over such as at a point int he road there is no room due to guardrails being next to the white line to find a safe place to pull over. Another person told me that it was you had to pull over no matter where you are. Which is right?
Whatever the cop thinks is right that day...

As far as "pulling to the right for emergency vehicles",, you should signal, pull to the right and give them some room. Let them pass you if they are behind you. This allows them to get to their emergency(or to the hospital) as quick as possible.
If you are being pulled over by the po-lice, then use your turn signal and pull off the road at a location that is safe(wide berm/driveway/ect). It doesn't matter if you have to drive a short distance to find a safe location. Just drive reasonable and signal your intent to pull over.
nobody ever pulls over for emergency vehicles.. what if this was one of your family members that was in need of medical/fire attention and you just decided your not going to pull over then you get all mad at your local fire station because they didnt respond fast enough.. it does not matter if the emergency vehicle is behind/ahead of you, then you must STILL pull over.. IT IS THE LAW but nobody ever follows it and i think police need to start cracking down on this..
I wouldnt think joe dirt with his blue light going and driving like a bat out of hell is not an emergency vehicle, most of the vol are nib shitters not all but the majority.psp or amb I can see getting over for.
Joe Dirt with his blue light going is more than likely the EMT or Firefighter who is racing to the hall to bring the Fire Engine or Ambulance to the scene of an emergency.
Joe Dirt is the guy or gal who gets out of bed at 3am when you are having a heart attack, the one who will give you CPR, extricate your child from the wreckage of your vehicle after an accident, put out your chimney fire after you neglected to clean your chimney.
Joe and Jane Dirt probably spend their spare time working bingo, BBQing chicken, holding fish frys, or wading down the river for a duck race to raise funds to keep serving you.
HOW COULD YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY YOU WOULDN'T PULL OVER AND LET THEM GO BY SO THEY CAN GET TO AN EMERGENCY. YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!!!
If I remember right the blue light u don't have to pull over for its just a curtisy thing to do but any red lights u need to pull over as fast as u can correct me if im wrong

Let me know your name, so when I respond to your house or my dept we know to go as slow as possible with the blue lights. Most blue light people are the ones out of town, most are the EMTS which can help you out with just about anything before the ambulance or Medics get there. 5 Minutes sooner is better then waiting 5 minutes longer for an ambulance, dont you think?
Joe dirt is the Guys and woman fighting fire tonight!!! And if it were your house you would want people pulling over so they could get to you!! Theyre not nib shitters..I personally say thank you to all our local firemen..EMS Staff for everything they do..and perhaps they Need alot more respect for what they do and give!!
I dont give a dam what there driving if it has an EMERGENCY LIGHT AND ITS ON get the hell out of there way dont be a jerk keep in mind to a lot of these vehicles any more have DVR camcorders just check out youtube who knows maybe your already on there
I would also like to add that when you pull over for flashing lights, whatever color they may be, say a lttle prayer for the responders and whoever they may be responding to.
im a fire chief and i do see a lot of people who runs blue lights and they think they can dis obey the law all the time and by right they can not do so. so all these people who are running blue lights needs to slow down and obey the laws. in my department we have asked the people not to run blues for this reason. by law you dont have to pull over for them either.
Thank you to the fire chief for clarifying that! We surely do appreciate all that you and your department do across the area! Merry Christmas!
