Roulette No Water Update
Although we have been, up until approximately 12AM
on 12/23, producing enough water to keep up with the leak that we have
been looking for, the leak has become so bad that we had to engage our
back-up well this morning in order to keep up with the combined loss and
consumption.
This morning, we discovered a major leak on the SW corner
of Main St. and Pomeroy St. that was not there when we checked that area
last week. One of our residents pointed out that there was a lot of
water flowing in that area, and upon inspection discovered that it is a
problem. We are assuming that this is what caused the sudden increase in
loss on the 23rd, but it is not the main leak that we have been looking
for. We will continue to look for the big leak, but for the moment we
are going to focus on getting the known leak fixed before the storm
hits.
The
main water valves going to this section of line have been shut down in
order to permit our work crews to repair the new leak that has surfaced.
This will affect all of our customers along Pomeroy Street, and all
customers on Main Street, west of Fishing Creek Road Ext. / Pomeroy St.
These customers will have no water until the leak has been repaired and
we can turn the water back on.
We still do not know how long it will
take to make the necessary repairs and restore service, but the crews
are in route to the site now to begin that process and will get the
water service restored as soon as possible. It may take the better
portion of the day to complete the repair, so please plan on being
without water for the better portion of the day to be safe.
