Route 14 bridge rehabilitation project update; traffic switch today

Here’s a brief update on the $733,000 bridge rehabilitation project currently under construction on Route 14 in Columbia Township, Bradford County.

The contractor, HRI, Inc., will switch traffic to the rehabilitated side of the bridge in order to begin the next phase of construction. Motorists are advised to be alert for the changing traffic patterns starting later today.

The contractor is replacing the deck and parapets on the bridge over Wolfe Creek, just south of the intersection with Coryland Road. In addition to the new deck, repairs are being made to the beams and an abutment, and there will be new guiderail and pavement approaches.

Temporary traffic signals are being used to control traffic as the work is being done in half-width construction.

The bridge is expected to be open to two lanes of traffic in February.
