A Keating Township man is facing 2 counts of False Reports To Law Enforcement after he told troopers at 2:40 am on Wednesday that a man had forced his way into his home between 11PM and Midnight, assaulted him and took a hunting rifle.

Michael Robert McNally, 26, of 186 Bush Hill Road, Austin, PA, was arrested by Trooper David A. Surra and arraigned in front of District Judge Annette Easton who released him on $5,000. unsecured bail pending a preliminary hearing.

Trooper Surra said the incident occurred as PSP Coudersport was notified by Tioga County 911 center of a robbery/home invasion which occurred at 186 Bush Hill Road.

McNally  advised members of PSP Coudersport that while cleaning a hunting rifle in his living rooom between the hours of 11 PM and midnight, a male individual, whom McNally had had contact with earlier in the evening, forced his way into the residence. McNally advised he was struck by the individual and the individual took the rifle, fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
