Vandalism in RouletteWe have been receiving multiple reports of senseless acts of vandalism and mischief in Roulette over the past week or two. Most of it seems to be focused in the area between Maple Street & Fourth Street, and between the Allegheny River & Burleson Avenue. Things such as stolen or damaged Christmas lights and decorations, ice balls / snow balls being thrown at passing vehicles, and now snow men being built and erected in the middle of busy intersections. Witnesses have reported seeing three young boys committing some of these acts, that have been seen running towards Maple Street between Center Street and Burleson Avenue when they were caught.
While none of these incidents have caused any substantial damage to this point, it is sad to think that one cannot beautify their home with decorations for the holidays without fear of them being dismantled, destroyed or stolen. The more pressing issue is now the fact that these individuals are now creating traffic concerns with placement of the snowmen and throwing of snow and ice balls at passing vehicles. These acts could cause a lot of damage to a vehicle and could potentially cause an accident.
We are asking that anyone witnessing such acts report it to the state police by calling 911 or 814-274-8690. It would be a terrible thing for young children, and their parents, to have to have something like this to deal with so near to the holidays. It is our hopes that the parents of these children will realize that maybe it is their child, or children, who is causing these problems and stop it before it comes to that point.
Thank you and Have a Merry Christmas,
