Frederick D. Alden, 87, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium and formerly of 502 Old Portage Rd., Emporium, PA

Frederick D. Alden, 87, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium and formerly of 502 Old Portage Rd., Emporium died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys on Monday (December 31, 2012) night.

He was born October 14, 1925 in Emporium a son of the late Fredrick E. and Alvera Wolfanger Alden.
On October 24, 1949 in First Baptist Church he married Twila Ludwig Alden, who survives.

Mr. Alden served with the US Navy during WW II. He retired from the Cameron County School District where he was a custodian for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Bucktail Rod and Gun Club and the NRA. He was also an avid hunter.

Sister: Colleen, Mrs. Carney Thomas, Afton, TN

Brother: In infancy

Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Friday (January 4, 2013) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Russell J. Horning, officiating.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
Burial will be in the Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau.
