Galeton Rotary Club news

Galeton Rotary Club news

 by Henry Lush
The Galeton Rotary club held it's Christmas Party on December 20 at The Susquehannock Lodge. 22 members and quests attended this very nice evening.

It was also a going away event for Pastor Karl Runser and his wife Sharon. Pastor Karl has been the club secretary for over 9 years. Karl and Sharon are moving to Lock Haven where he has accepted the charge of serving five Lutheran congregations in that area. They will be missed here in Galeton and at Galeton Rotary.

The next two weeks the club met at the Ox Yoke Inn where business meetings were held. On January 10th a Fireside meeting was held at the Ox Yoke with president Beth Hoff presiding. The annual fireside meeting held in January is an evaluation of club activities over the past six months and to set goals for the next six months.

The Woodsman's Show was discussed at length and plans are moving forward for the 2013 show in August.

An update of the club's finances was presented by longtime club treasurer, Dr. Joe Iaquinto. Rotarian Paul Pritchard informed the club that the spring comprehensive blood screening will be held March 23 at 7AM at the C.E. Building at the Galeton Presbyterian Church. This is an annual project held in cooperation with Cole Memorial Hospital
