James Carlyle Anderson, 76, of 70 Birch Street, Bradford, PA

James Carlyle Anderson, 76, of 70 Birch Street, Bradford, PA,  passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013, at his residence.

Born June 12, 1936 in Campbelltown, James was the son of the late Carl J. and Eva Marie (Paulson) Anderson.

On May 1, 1965 in The Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bradford, he married Patricia F. (Stover) Anderson, who survives.

He was a 1954 graduate of Bradford High School.

He enlisted in the US Army on October 2, 1959, served in Ankara, Turkey, and was honorably discharged January 23, 1962.

After returning from military service, he attended St. Bonaventure University and earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting.

He worked at Dresser Manufacturing for over 30 years, retiring in 1992 with the position of Operations Manager.

After his retirement, he was a founding partner of Clark and Anderson Inc.

James had previously served as principal of the Bradford Area Christian Academy and at the time of his death, was a real estate agent for Coldwell-Banker.

He was a member of the Star Lodge #555, F & AM, Duke Center, The Kiwanis Club and served on the board of directors for the Bradford Ecumenical Home, The Friendship Table, and The Bradford Area School District.

He was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing golf.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Ami (Michael) Mohr, of Manama, Bahrain; two sons Timothy (Tammy) Anderson, of Bradford and Jeffrey (Philippe) Anderson, of Stockholm, Sweden; three grandchildren, Christopher Horton, Kayla Anderson and Meghan Mohr; a sister, Barbara (Donald) Olson, of Newport News, VA and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, June Candelora and one brother, Donald Anderson.

Friends are invited to call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM, Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Avenue and again from 10 to 11 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2013 in The First United Methodist Church where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Tom Verner, pastor, officiating. Military honors will be accorded in the sanctuary following the service. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to The First United Methodist Church of Bradford or McKean County VNA & Hospice.
