John Louis Raub, 91, of Galeton, PA

John Louis Raub, 91, of Galeton, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Bradford Manor, Bradford, PA. 

 Born April 2, 1921 in Galeton, he was a son of the late Arthur and Sadie (Anderson) Raub.

 John was a 1939 graduate of the Galeton High School. He was a United States Navel Veteran, having served as an Aircraft Mechanic on the U.S.S. Saratoga, U.S.S. Forrestal, and the U.S.S. Coral Sea during W.W.II. John was a founding member of the Galeton V.F.W., a Lifetime Member of the Galeton Moose, and a member of the Fleet Reserve. 

 Surviving are three brothers, Thomas (Shirley) Raub, North Tonawanda, NY, Jerry Raub, Indio, CA, and James Raub, Dundee, NY; two special nephews, Scott and Zane Raub; and several other nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Galeton, on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00pm and at St. Bibiana’s Catholic Church, Galeton, on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, from 10:00 to 11:00am. Following at 11:00 am, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty as Celebrant. 

Military Honors will be accorded by the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Galeton Moose or to the Galeton V.F.W.
