McKean 5 was dispatched at 17:56 for a possible chimney fire at 422
Chase Street.
Upon arrival Chief 5 advised McKean County Dispatch that
smoke was showing and flames were visible from the attic window. Also
Chief 5 requested McKean County to upgrade chimney fire to a working
structure fire.
Chief 5 also requested Engine 101 from Station 10 Mt.
Jewett to the scene with manpower. Tower 5 was the first unit to respond
and took orders to take the address. Engine 56 was the next piece of
apparatus to respond and took the hydrant at Haines and Chase St. and
laid 5 inch supply line into Tower 5. Engine 58 and Rescue 51 responded
with man power.
The fire was extinguished and units returned to station
at 20:15.
Station 26 was dispatched to stand by at Station 5 with
an engine and crew. MA 5 staged at Chase St. and Easton street for fire
stand by.
There were no reported injuries to any firefighters or any
persons occupying the residence. Kane Borough Street Department went to
the scene and spread anti-skid around the scene due to the water and
frigid temperatures. Kane Police Department was on location and assisted
with traffic control as well.
