Kenneth E. Abbott, 87, of Port Allegany, PA

Kenneth E. Abbott, 87, of Port Allegany, PA, died Thursday (January 31, 2013) in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

He was born Aug 24, 1925 in Kane, a son of Fred and Sadie McDowell Abbott. On November 1, 1943, in Cattaragus, NY, he married Virginia Quick, who survives. They were married for 69 years.

Mr. Abbott attended Kane schools and was employed at Pittsburgh Corning in Port Allegany for 43 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:

one daughter: Sherri Kinney of Port Allegany, PA

one son: Ralph Abbott of Port Allegany, PA

Four Grandchildren: Shane Abbott, Wendy Roys, Denise (Michael) Hughes, and Josh (Jorni) Kinney

Four Great Granddaughters: Brooke and Brianna Roys; Shanna and Shayna Abbott

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clayton Abbott.

Visitation and funeral services will be held privately with the family. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
