Lloyd J. Holden, 74, of 3080 Rt. 646 Rew, PA
Lloyd J. Holden, 74, of 3080 Rt. 646 Rew, passed away, Sunday, January 20, 2013, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with numerous health problems.
Born December 23, 1938 in Cyclone he was a son of the late Ralph R. and Lena (Bush) Holden. He attended Bradford High School.
On February 20, 1960 in Bradford he married Myrna A. (Smead) Holden, who died on February 25, 2010.
He worked as a construction worker for Laborers Union Local # 603. He worked to build the Kinzua Dam, the Rt 219 Bradford By Pass, and prior to his retirement he worked at Interstate Amiesite.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He especially enjoyed his hunting trips with his friends and family to Colorado, Maine, and Ohio. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and football fan.
Surviving is one daughter, Tama (Richard) Fitzsimmons, of Cyclone, one son, Lloyd C. Holden, of Gifford, one-daughter-in-law Rhonda Holden of Cyclone, two sisters; Nancy (Dan) Holden- Schuster, of Cyclone, and Carol Burgess, of Bradford, three granddaughters; Buffy (Yuri) Merrick, Heather (Terry) Carlson, Mercedes Holden, four grandsons; Aaron (Heather) Fitzsimmons, Matthew (Katie) Fitzsimmons, Clayton Holden and Parker Holden, two great granddaughters Vanessa Merrick, and Natasha Merrick, one great grandson Owen Fitzsimmons
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers Arthur Holden, Clayton Holden, and Howard Holden, one sister Esther Holden.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. 33 South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 24, 2013 with Rev. Max Simms pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville MD, 20852, or the charity of the donor's choice.
