Merle R. Trout, 67, of Galeton, PA, formerly of Lancaster County, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, December 31, 2012.
Born June 27, 1945, in Elizabethtown, PA, he was a son of the late George P. and Bessie M. (Tennie) Trout.
Merle was a member of the Lighthouse Community Church in Galeton. He was employed for many years by Kinard Trucking of York, PA as an “over the road” truck driver. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed woodworking and found relaxation in taking care of his yard.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, the former Kathleen P. Ortman, are, a son, Merle K. (Marizon C.) Trout, Savannah, GA; a brother, Carl E. (Leslie) Trout, NC; a sister, Lois Ann (Larry) Ibach, Lancaster County, PA; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Merle was predeceased by a daughter, Raianne Lynn Trout, in 2005, and a brother, Leroy E. Trout.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Lighthouse Community Church, Sherman St., Galeton, from 2:00 to 3:00pm with a Memorial Service following.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in his name. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton.
