Orvin S. 'Bud' Butters, 85, of 7626 Route 59, Lewis Run, PA
Orvin S. 'Bud' Butters, 85, of 7626 Route 59, Lewis Run, PA, passed away Friday, January 11th, at his residence.
Born September 30, 1927 in Kane he was the son of late Orvin A. Butters and Ida Luella (Weaver)
Butters
On February 13, 1948 in Kane, he married Shirley L. Swanson, who passed away May 26, 1980.
He enlisted in The U.S. Air Force on January 9, 1946 and served in Alaska. He was honorably discharged on July 3, 1947.
Mr.
Butters worked for Pennzoil and National Transit for 35 years retiring
in 1990. He developed Shirley Hills Mobile Home Court in Lafayette,
owned and operated Butters' Backhoe Service and for a short time drove
school bus.
He
was an avid racing and NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching his son racing
on area race tracks. He was a passionate Zippo Collector and loved all
things John Deere.
He was a member of the former Bradford Moose Lodge and a member of the Lafayette Men's Club
In
addition to his companion of over 30 years, Darlene Baxter he is
survived by eight children; Robert A. (Chris) Butters, of Marshburg;
Deborah (Gary) Milliron, of Gifford; Tom (Katharine) Butters of
Midland, TX; Gary Lee (Donna) Butters, of Jacksonville. NC; Cindy
(Ervin) Olin, of Bradford; James (Laura) Butters, of Custer City; Orvin
Todd (Beth) Butters, of Bradford; and Bradley (Jackie) Butters, of Kane; a
sister, Betty Lou Butters of Phoenix, AZ; sixteen grandchildren,
eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addtion
to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. in the Hollenbeck-Cahill
Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street where funeral and committal
services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 16th, with Rev. Lynn Gatz, McKean County Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
